Is it safe to go to the middle east if your American?
Is it like if you go there without a gun you'll get your head chopped off? Or they will take you and make a video of you and shot you? And you can't wear shoes only sandles and you have to pray like 5 times a day? Plus the only food is meat and rice?
You're kidding, right? We're leading the world in a war against Islamic Fundamentalist terrorism (which is based out of the Middle East, by the way) and you want to know if it's safe for an American civilian? An ARMED one at that? Understand this, ...the value we place on human life in the West (America, Britain, Australia, Canada, etc.) is not shared in any way by our counterparts in the Middle East (Except for Israel). To an islamic Fundamentalist involved in Jihad, human life is the cheapest commodity out there. It is a means to accomplishing an end. Hence the number of suicide bombers. One other thing to consider is something most Americans don't when they go abroad and it applies a thousand fold in the Middle East. While we and our allies are "Westernized" and accept and even welcome outsiders and their cultures and ideals, for the most part the Middle East does not. It is an Islamic world over there and the law of the land is dictated by the Quran (or however it's spelled). They're not very forgiving when an outsider comes over and gets cross to their laws and customs. If you go, stay in a group, do not leer or make insulting gestures to the women over there. Do not allow any female in your party to touch an islamic man or to wear clothing that in any way reveals her "natural curves and beauty". You will stand out like a cherry on a cream pie, so know where the American Embassies are and be able to get to them as fast as humanly possible.
