My infant daughter hits me, is that normal?
My daughter has recently picked up a hitting me habit.. She will bite me, pinch me, slap me, pull my hair, take the remote from my hand and throw it, and just yesterday she hit me in the forehead twice with her baby bottle, as soon as she woke up. I guess that was her way of telling me "Rise and Shine". She hit's me any chance she get's. I try to laugh it off, but she has actually made me cry.. I need some really good advice.. She has a heavy hand and a tight grip..plz help..
Wow. You can absolutely not let her do that and one of the worse things you can do is to "laugh it off" because when she gets to ages 3+ this behavior doesn't just wear off. it gets worse. She's old enough to throw things at u when she's angry which means she knows just what she's doing and she also knows that she can get away with it because she's aware that you'll do nothing to stop her. When she does that you take her little hand, and tap it and say "NO...don't hit!" and it won't hurt her it'll just hurt her feelings and she'll know that there are consequences when she does that...you can even tap her butt and say NO because it doesn't hurt her physically only emotionally...if she hits ur face or grabs ur face hard just take ur hand and kind of rub her face...she'll think you're hitting her back and she'll be upset but she'll soon learn that it's punishment...do NOT give her her way.otherwise the two of you have a long, tough road ahead.i may sound drastic but it's so unfortunately true.
