Double Padded Sparring

could using heavier gloves hurt performance in my case?

i weigh 130 and i use 16 oz gloves all the time (for heavybag, double end, mitt work) but when i had my first fight i put on 10 oz gloves.

it just felt akward, my hands werent in control, its like was tryin to physically push something. my coordination was a little off too, should i just use 10oz gloves to train too would that help me?

even when i spar my arms get drained easily and my form turns sloppy. but when i do the pads and shadowbox everybody says its really good. i have been boxing for a year and have gotten used to sparring so its not that i m nervous.

does anybody know where my problem lies is it the gloves or is it something else?
wtf does michael jacksons dying and secret life of a teenager have to do with this???????

the problem with using 10oz gloves when you train is the tendency for you to wear your hands and wrists out faster due to the lack of cushioning, especially on the heavy bag. as far as sparring goes, wearing the heavier gloves is usually due to you wanting to protect yourself and your partner from receiving too much damage in sparring. the problem is there will definitely be some degree of adjustment when you use the lighter gloves in an actual match.
